Installing a new Reliance cam in a 4430 but after pressing on the old gear it looks like its riding at a different height than the old one. The retainer plate behind the gear seems to have about the right amount of “play” which is very little, and it sits flat on the block mount. You can see where the gears were in mesh and its a ways off, but I’m pretty positive the gear is fully pressed on, albeit with the little bit of space under where the retaining washer and bolt go. Am I missing something obvious?
