Subject: Question on round cab Deeres

ND
Why do none of them seem to start "nice"? What I mean is I haven't seen one, in person or online, that doesn't sit and smoke, chug, act like it's only firing on half its cylinders, hunt, etc, before finding idle, they never just pop off like tractors of similar age. New engine or original engine, they all have to make a show when they start.

Our 5088s pop right off and seem to find idle almost immediately without a problem unless its below 0, our case 94 series does a rev but that's it, the 855 in our versatile will rev and do a little hunting but nothing like the round cab deeres though. The only thing we have that could rival the way they start is our L2 with a 301 in the cold and not plugged in that was a former custom combiner's machine.

Is it the compression, injection system, engine design? Were they simply made to do that every time? A side effect of something else? Genuinely curious on why that range of Deere tractors all start that way.
