| Needing some advice and information. Thinking about in future trying Triticale or Maton rye for silage. 22 inch rain fall area in Texas, red dirt. We use to put up a lot of sorghum silage 20 years ago but that was in a 36 inch rainfall area with sandy loam soil. Also grew a lot of Maton rye for yearlings. That rye grew like wildfire. Also put out some triticale, it did really good also but seemed the rye out did it on poorer soils.
1. What's the custom harvest guys charging now if you lay it down and wind row it? They chop, haul and pack.
2. Thoughts on Triticale vs Rye for silage?
Any advice would greatly be appreciated | |
