SC WI | Bought a 85 Gleaner N5 on auctiontime sight unseen, for worst case scenario a parts combine, I was told it had typical Allis blow-by, seemed pretty heavy but aside for that it was a pretty solid combine & nice than the N5 I already owned ended up buying a hugger head for it & was going to make it my main combine.
Long story short underload it ended up losing nearly a gallon an hour out the blow-by tube, had good compression started great but couldn't keep oil in it. Was stressing trying to decide to pull the motor & fix it or just buy a R62 a couple years ahead of plan I pulled the valve cover off in a last ditch effort & find the copper oil line feeding the rocket assembly broke and was spraying oil into the blow-by tube, robbed it off the old N5 and I'm finally running corn & getting something done again. I sure appreciate the easy fixes & having a one stop parts shop in the yard.
