Does anyone have a clue WHY crickets that get into the basement floor are all DEADer than a doornail. Never ever hear one chirp, it must be awful fast. One made it to the kitchen floor from basement steps nearby., Dead also.

Is this a sign of toxic gas like radon being heavier than air? Or any other things it could cause same?
