Subject: JD 535 bale density valve.

northwest tennessee

My baler is not holding pressure like it should and I had the bale tension cylinders rebuilt to make sure they were not leaking internally but didn't change the gauge in any way. I have the valve screwed all the way in and 2:00 is the most I can get out of it in a good windrow then it drops back to 12:00 or  1:00. This valve is 358.00 and talked to the JD shop manager and he said to check all the poppet valves and low pressure valve blown O-rings etc. I have checked some and will check the others. I have searched for the thread where maybe supa dexta was taking a valve apart but cant find it. Does this valve come apart, the JD folks say no. Any advice feel free to chime in. One more thing the other day when baling I hit the hydraulic lever to see if it would make the needle jump up and it made it slightly flicker but no difference really. I don't mind getting the valve if I have to. It is priced like gold though.
