| Interesting land auction yesterday in jasper county, IL. A nice flat square 80 went for 7400$/acre more or less. 3 tracts that added up to about 100 acres I believe went right around 6k. Some other more broken and lighter dirt went 5k and under. A lot of whispers before th auction that the 80 would bring close to 10k, and the rest at 7-8k. Not much ground has sold publicly in that area so I don't think the market is saturated. Several bidders but most were pretty conservative. There was an investor bidding st one time but I think farmers ended up with all of it. These prices would be down a fair amount from recently. 170 an average corn crop and 50ish of beans. | |
