Subject: Corn shrink

Just was working on crop insurance garbage all afternoon and found at interesting trend for the second year in a row. My monitor was heavy about 5 bu per acre on everything that went to town, but a little light on what I have in my bins. I dried and hauled out about 90,000 bu to elevator and just got done figuring the bushels again and each time the real shrink factor seems to be .008 per percent as opposed to 1.4 the elevator uses. Last year same figure on about 125,000 bushel. Just wondering if anyone else has figured this and came up with a similiar number. By the way I used the avg moisture from my monitor and scale numbers off the grain cart for the weights. Our grain cart is usually pretty close to elevator. avg in was 23.7 and avg out was 15.4. Maybe I am splitting hairs but kinda weird 2 years in a row.
