Subject: Can you put EFI on older engines

Kansas
Few years back I did a demo with a 4250 AGCOstar with the Detroit motor with Electronic Fuel Injection and I have to say when I went back to our 4894 with the Scanlan motor I guess I got spoiled that I thought how neat it was with the EFI the AGCO never pulled down. I was just wondering if say companies like Scanlan and Deutz still make the same basic motors as in the past they probably are now EFI, so why can't an older motor be converted? I know it sounds like a silly question, but I'd just like to know.
