Subject: JD 9500 settings

Started combining corn today, just one bin full and started raining. I am getting a lot of cob in the bin and was wondering how most people are running the concaves, seives, fan, etc. I have everything set by the book: cylinder 300 rpm, 8 on concave indicator, 1000 rpm fan, pre cleaner 7/16", chaffer 5/8", extension 3/4", seive 1/2". I am thinking maybe I should open concave a little more, slow cylinder down. Also it looks to me like the chaffer is a little too far open, but I am going by the book so any advice or tips appreciated. Corn is around 18 per cent moisture.

The 9500 is completely new to me in corn, have used it in wheat this year. Had an 8820 before and it did a superior cleaning job.
