North Central Illinois | Replacing a fence that was more than due for it. It had two strands of high tensile barbed wire put up about 15 years ago. I ran one 6" above the top of the 39" woven wire, and the other on the ground to deter coyotes and the neighbor's dogs from digging under. I plan for it to contain sheep, goats, and cattle. Hopefully the hedge posts and high tensile woven wire last a while.
I still need to cut the tops off of the posts and fasten the woven wire a little bit more. I intend to leave an extra 8" of post above the top wire in case I decide I need another smooth hot wire on top.
Also, does anyone know where to get new porcelain insulators like these? I have almost used up the old ones I have around, and they last so much longer than plastic.
