South Central, Minnesota | Hi everyone just wanting to see your thoughts on this opportunity I have. We feed lot our beef cows in the winter and had a older gentleman contact me today to see if I wanted to have cows on his lot. It’s about 10 miles from my home farm. With this opportunity I should be able to add easlily another 50 cows to winter there. I do have the pasture space. He has 4 beef cows and a bull left that he would like to keep and me to take care of them at his place. I would be in charge of all the feed/supplements. He also has a skid loader that I would rent from him on a per hour basis for feeding.
Wanting to hear your opinions
What should I pay for yardage? hd/day?
Skid loader rental rate per hour? His is an old gehl
What should I charge him per day per hd for feeding/caring for his cattle.
I would be feeding hay in bale rings and have lick tubs with the cows.
