Subject: Need to replace a truck, double frame or single?

WC WI
We need to replace the truck under our 24ft grain/silage box. Current truck is double framed and the rust between the 2 is causing them too split and crack. Local truck shop told us this morning that it's probably past being fixable to the point to where it would pass a dot inspection. Just wondering if we could get by with a single frame truck to eliminate the rusting between the frames. Every double framed truck we've had has had trouble with rusting between them. Truck would be set up with a single point hoist with a lift axle under the hoist and another behind the tandems. Anyone have any experience whether a single frame would hold up? TIA
