Subject: Louisiana Citrus with Photos

Franklinton, LA
Everyone knows that Franklinton is 60 or 70 miles too far north for citrus. However, we have had some milder than normal winters so people in this area have been planting satsuma, orange, lemon and grapefruit in their yard to see what will happen. A few years back we set out a Satsuma and Lemon tree on the south side of our house. We had a good satsuma (Sat Su Ma) crop in 2013 and a crop failure in 2014 and 2015. This has been the best year ever. Even the local possums think they are good! However, the satsuma eating career for this possum is over! He messed up when he decided that peanut butter was better than satsumas.
