Boone, Iowa | I bought a new bull from a known seller last winter and put him with 19 cows and 4 heifers that had 1st calf this spring. A couple weeks ago, I saw him ride a cow. My 1st thought is, why is this cow in heat. My 2nd thought is why isn't the bull's penis extending and penetrating. I talked to an ISU vet and took the bull over last week to get checked. He has 80% semen motility, but the vet questioned the length of the bull's penis. I had the vet come out it today and found out all 23 are open. I would like to know what the seller should do to make things right. I will be missing a year of calves. | |
