Subject: Steward Sheaf Loader

North of London

Happened on this article about a piece of machinery from the past.
Something I never saw or had anything to do with as all our grain was pitched by hand but my wife noticed me reading it and commented that she saw one demonstrated on one of her uncles farms.
Said it put the stooks of sheaves on the wagon so fast that 3 men on the wagon were falling all over themselves trying to sort them out.
Maybe worked better in the larger fields of the Prairies or maybe they had better trained men out there.

On the other hand young men used to go out west for a job helping with the harvest.

i am sure those young ladies were not helping load the wagon.
