Subject: Air Born Corn

Yesterday, we were harvesting corn, and I became the designated trucker. After hauling one of my semi loads to the local elevator, a lady flagged me down. She informed me that she had been following me on the highway, and corn blowing off of my (tarped) truck had stuck her windshield, causing a "star" style pit.

So I gave her my insurance information and we exchanged names and contact information, etc. and did the things one is supposed to do.

It was a very windy day, and there is always the possibility of a few kernals of corn escaping the tarp or having been lying on the framework somewhere so that they were never enclosed by the tarp. I certainly have no reason to doubt the lady's description of the events.

But I find myself curious, as I don't recall ever previously hearing of someone's windshield being damaged by air-born corn kernals. Anyone else ever hear of this? showboat
