Subject: Heat and dry weather

I'm just wanting to get some feed back from you guys on this heat wave we are having. I live in central Indiana and all you see on the news is how dry and hot it is in western Illinois Iowa Minnesota Nebraska and so on. We are hot here but not as dry as most years this time. Is it not taking a toll on your corn crop I know we were dry as a bone in June and it has really taken the top end out of the early corn. Grain fill and pollination went pretty well this year but the heat has to take the top end and shorten this crop up a little. That's all I hear about is a 170 average and from what I see and gather from you guys it's not so great so what am I missing? Is this a trick to get us to dump corn this fall or even now then they will pull the rug out from under us and say we don't have near as big of a crop and watch the price climb the ladder again? Scare tactics or is this the real deal and we will hit the 170 average?
