Planted beans into cereal rye and some annual rye 4/23. Cereal rye was waist high and a few places higher. Too thick, one bu. drilled with sow manure. Planted great in 30" rows. Just sprayed Roundup, didn't think Valor would ever make it into the ground. Sprayed almost 3 weeks ago with Roundup again and very few weeds. Now out of the blue there is Marestail, and way more than a few. I'm sick. Use Valor all the time and have very little Marestail, but thought the cereal rye would keep it out. Well it seems to be doing its job where it is super thick, but where it gets a little thin, no. So I guess I'm going to try First Rate and Roundup and pray I can kill some. What do others who plant into tall cereal rye do? There is still almost no weeds except for the Marestail. I should have asked about the Valor in tall/thick cereal rye back when planted.
