IA | I have a specific question regarding those whose situation is similar to mine regarding their nitrogen program/application. We farm in some lighter, fairly hilly locations. Most farms are planted on the contour making post emergence application of nitrogen not an option. If we had straight, flat farms no doubt we would be sidedressing like I assume the majority do in those situation.
This year some of over corn was un-even so to speak and agronomist determined it to be nitrogen loss. This is on no-till bean ground planted to corn. We put liquid 32% on pre-plant to reach our goal for total nitrogen per acre.
Starter on the planter currently isn't an option with limiting HP on planting tractor. We have talked about using the nitrogen as a carrier when spraying after we get the corn in the ground. We are in a transition to all no-till and hoping to find some answers. What do those do in a similar situation?
