Subject: JD 1770 planter. What is desirable?

South Dakota
I am interested in what everybody thinks that knows about the 1770's. I am interested in buying a 16 row box planter with the idea of having starter fert. on it. I am willing to do some rebuilding definitely to the row units but would like a good frame and shanks. What years should I be looking for? Or would it be best to try to find one that is ready to go. My idea is that I should be able to do this all at a reasonable buy whether it is a rebuild or ready to go. I am pretty sure I want a box planter and no CCS.

I would really like any input. I have been planting with an 8 row 7200 36" so I know nothing about the 1770 frames and the ghosts that they would bring.
Also, is there any chance a 6150R would pull the 16 row?
