Callao, Missouri | I noticed this spot while spraying burn down the other day. It's left over from a stack of straw that I ammoniated the fall of 2012.
I messed up on my calculation of NH3 needed, and only applied 1/2 as much as I should have. I know it worked though, the forage test showed that it did increase in protein proportionable to the N applied.
The next year (2013) was corn, 2014 soybeans, 2015 wheat, 2015 wheat cover crop. So there's been three grass crops raised here that should be burning the N. And it's been tilled in this particular spot at least 4 times.
How much longer do you think it will be noticeable? It makes me wonder what other things am I doing that will linger for years.
