Pierce county WI | I was talking to a Pete salesman yesterday and he said you could pull the engine out of any 2016 and older truck and put an older engine in. The engine has to meet the epa specification on the valve cover. For 2017 the truck has to meet epa specs. When you sell it then, it has to be sold as a builder or put back. But let's say I bought a truck with less than 400k on it, pulled the motor right away. Then wait till the emission repairs come down in price. I would then have an engine showing low miles on the ecm. Also you could in theory put a mechanical engine in too? A regular 13/18 speed from a 2012/2013 truck would have no problems communicating as far as electronics, with say an n14? | |
