N.E. South Dakota
So we have a 12.7 Detroit in a semi tractor. About 6 years ago we had a in frame overhaul done at a private shop. So now with a little over two hundred thousand miles on it we are back in the shop because of coolant in the oil. The culprit this time is electrolysis has ate out the sleeve seals as well as ruined the sleeves. We change the coolant filter at each oil change . We have Ben using antifreeze that a local parts store sells in balk. So educate me where are we messing up?? Detroit shop is pointing a figure at the antifreeze. They said it tested good, but sent a sample in to a lab to have it tested . I'm more than ready to listen to good advise.!!!!! Learning the hard way is getting expensive. Thanks guys.
