southern Illinois | We are well into our trip. We stopped by Mcdowell ranch in Shemrock and got a great tour by our friend John Mcdowell.
We learned about Texas being big. We must have drove 100 miles looking around. It was a real good time.
We asked about cotton before we got there and John was good enough to talk to the Gin and get us a tour provided by Jeff Camp in Dodson tx at the coop gin. Jeff took almost an hour to show us what happens to cotton when it comes in for cleaning and seed separation and to places all over the world.
He really did a great job of explaining it to a couple , me and my wife, of corn and bean farmers.
Today was spent a couple hours down the road to Palo Duro canyon. Thanks to everyone for telling us about this hike. We racked up 5.5 miles in the rocks and hills today. This is the best hiking we have been on that I can remember. Tylenol all around for us before bed tonight, might be sour in the morning.
Temps were 84 wed and 65 today. Our boys say snow and 20s at home..... | |
