Only been there once several years ago. There's a museum dedicated to Gene Autry, but unfortunately it closed this year. The town was originally named Berwyn and changed after Gene purchased approximately 1,200 acres of land nearby for his rodeo headquarters.
Not much is left of the original town buildings. Just happened to drive through the area one summer. There's a huge Dollar General distribution center nearby which seems odd considering the last census listed 158 people.
I enjoy seeing old photographs and thought some of y'all might also.
Edit: The museum reopened this past September. Hope the missing items were returned.
