Gladwin Mi | I have abandoned the nurse cow idea and now am thinking of raising bottle calfs. I have to take 5 a week so over the couse of the year it is double the cattle I am set up to finish. The way I figure it I will have 800$ into a 400# calf. My concern is losing on the ones sold at 400#. I am ok with a 800$ calf going into my finish lot and they will be quality calves with control over my supply. Went to local sale must have been an off day because could have filled the trailer twice! 600#-900# stiens 1.50 a pound. They looked bad but give 60 and a hair cut you wouldn't recognized them. What say you?
