I haven't been on here in a while and this may have been discussed already but I found it interesting.  Our yields around here have been on the increase over the last couple of decades.  We had some field averages in the 80's here on our farm this year.  I can remember in the 70's and 80's when 40 bushels was outstanding and only hit that in a perfect year.  Of course, we are all irrigated now and we weren't back then.  Weed control is much easier nowadays too, even when you have to add some chemistry to get resistant weeds it's still better than what we had back then.  Anyway, it's hard for me to believe our state was up there with the Midwest in soybean yields.  Of course, we'll probably have a disaster next year.  Those August and early September hurricanes have wiped us out more than once!
