Subject: Education/Training Ideas for a Beginning Farmer?

Tri-State Area (WI, MN, IA)
My local banking institution is giving me $1,500 for a Beginning Farmer grant. Right now doing crop share cash grain farming, but have an interest in getting into beef or pigs down the road. The grant can't be used for equipment, rentals, assets, etc. ...just training, books, conferences, tax prep, accounting fees, etc. Have really learned a lot so far on this website and I know experience is the best teacher. (With these commodity prices, I've "learned" alot with my crop share this past year!)

Here are a couple of my thoughts so far:
Quickbooks
Training on Quickbooks
Pesticide Applicator Manual
Online Livestock Grazing course
Welding

Can anyone recommend any "must have" training, events, books, magazine subscriptions, conferences, conventions, other software, etc. I should be looking at?

TIA
