NC Iowa
What are your experiences? I'm no-till beans and strip-till corn. Have 3 situations I'm wondering about.

1. Field that is long tern no-till/strip-till but the soil seems less alive then our other fields. Bean yields weren't very good this year, farm is pattern tiled heavy black glacial till, Clarion, Harps, Nicollet, Webster-Nicollet Complex. Some high pH.

2. Field that I am farming for the 2nd year. Some tile, first time it has not had tillage ever. Some areas seem sealed off, especially this year was a tough year to raise good beans. Dinsdale, Garwin, Klinger, Marshan, Colo, Calco to name a few soil types. pH was way low and I spread lime last fall.

3. Similar soil types to 2 but has been no-tilled/strip tilled for 8 years. Very wet, not much tile, but soil has converted to no-till well.

I can post some Ca and Mg numbers if that helps.
