ottertail co mn | Left on Wednesday for Huron, the beans looked pretty good the whole way. Sunday morning from 20 miles west of Watertown to my place the beans definately took a hit. I would say 75% have been frosted in that distance. Some fields were maturing so the damage will not be that great, but there were some fields that were green as they are on the first of August. I would say those fields took a pretty good hit. I probably took a 5% loss On my fields if I were to guess. I planted all 03 and 009's on my farm this year, glad I went to short season. My test plot had some 09's and they got hit the hardest. They were green and now they are brown and dead. It is going to be interesting when the combines start to roll in a couple weeks. | |
