I have a field of soybeans or corn this year.  I will fly on a cover crop to capture the N.  Conservatively I capture 50 # or maybe more.  I know if it is a high carbon plant like rye it will release the N later in the season as the rye breaks down.  No problem.  I still need more N that the 50# to grow irr. corn.  How do I get my addition N on ?  I have a Case 5310 that I have been using to apply anhy as a preplant system in the fall or in the spring.  Do not have a side dresser.  Will I need to buy one?  I could put N on through the pivot, but would rather use the 5310 is possible.  I guess my question is more this.  Has anybody use the 5310 to apply N in a cover crop, either in the fall or in the spring ?
