south east SD | Been having right ankle pain that is getting worse. Sprained it real bad in the 8th grade, 56 now. Going to a ankle Dr and he says I need to have my ankle fused. At first it was the up and down motion needed to be locked. Did a MRI and missed a call, but the PA called and said the side to side motion was bad too and to call on Monday. I'm a big boy 6'4" 320 lbs and just got my left knee replaced in November. Trying to get rid of all things the are painful so I walk/exercise again.Dr says the ankle fusion will get rid of the pain with little loss of movement? SO I'm just wondering if anyone on here has a ankle fused? If so what are the pros and cons? And would you do it again? Looking for some information. Right now I can walk around the farm OK for a half a day, then I limp. It really comes up when we go somewhere, vacation! Walking in New Orleans this winter killed me, rough uneven streets made it worse. TIA | |
