Mid-Missouri | I remember spraying this field last year and it took me a round to figure out why the corn looked great in places and terrible in others. It didn't get the 2012 fall burndown because it wasn't intended on going to corn. When I sprayed post, I realized the nh3 applicator on 30" centers wasn't getting the spring applied fertilizer to the 30" corn rows. Later in the year, it appeared the corn "came out of it" but I assume yield was lost.
Notice the green weeds and pale corn where the nh3 applicator was in the middle of the corn rows.
Why did this happen and how do I prevent it?
Thanks.
