Buxton ND | I just took .30 hedge profits on ZCZ14. add in .23 from sometime this summer and i have a pretty good start on 42% of 2014 corn which I just ordered the seed yesterday. I did have orders way below the market just prior to the report just in case we had a bearish surprise. UN-winding of long beans/short corn should be supportive.
I did this same thing last year lifting hedges,which turned out to be VERY WRONG,2013 ALL CORN hedges should have been left on til the grain crossed the scale.................. But this year we're roughly $2 lower so now hoping for the bounce (meaning full bounce) would be nice.
Since the 1st of November the numbers say guys have been selling new crop corn. I always like to be "different" so when many are selling I want to buy ! ! ! Its not that I'm really bullish and went long,more so just willing to sit on the side lines and watch the traffic.
