Subject: Newbie planter question

West TN
I have a 3600 Kinze edgevac. Having problem with population. According to the book, I should be planting 28K and according to the monitor I am planting 33K. I have double checked the drive wheel sprocket and drive and driven transmission sprocket combinations and they are correct. Air pressure of tires is good. The book says to have a vacuum pressure of 20 and a singulator brush setting of 7 (based on 40-45# per 88K seed count). When I do my dig check, it seems like there are a few doubles. The spacing otherwise looks good. No skips. The seed size is small and not very uniform. I don't know if I should decrease the vacuum pressure and up the singulator brush setting (more aggresive) or just change sprockets to a lower population or all the above. Just need a little advice as this is my first crop. TIA. Also, I was not using any talc or graphite during this test run with minimal seed. Would this make a big difference.
