Subject: Brood cow feeding question

West Salem, Illinois
I have 2 silage bags of very drought stressed corn and very little hay. I tested the silage for nitrates and it's good to feed. Question is how much solage can I feed to cows that are due to calve in Feb-Mar? I would like to cut out as much hay as I can, but keep the cows in good condition and keep them ruminating. The corn that went into the silage was zeroed so that is why it was chopped, so there is probably no more than 10 bushel total in 200 tons. Grazing crop residue is out, after the almost 2 feet of snow we had than the 2 plus inches of rain we have mud on mud. Thanks in advanced
