Subject: Is this acceptable car salesman etiquette?

West Central Wisconsin
Two weeks ago my wife and I drove through a car lot, AFTER HOURS, looking at cross-overs. Yesterday I get a hand written letter from the mgr. of the store telling me how he can save me money on new Dodge trucks. I was thinking this was a form letter until I got to the next paragraph, "On September 6th, 2012, I checked our appraisal guide for your Sierra 2500. Your vehicle could be worth more than you think due to the current high market values". Then at the bottm was this, "Joe, let me know if you're interested- I need your vehicle by October 1st". Whooooa-camel! I have never bought anything from this store, had any service work nor called or stepped foot into this store before. There are two ways I can think of he got my info, somebody was in the store or driving by that recognized me, (doubtful), or their security cameras showed my plates and he ran them. Is this a sign of the times, an agressive salesman or what? I personally think it is over the line. What do you think? Joe
