NE SD | I was not around yet but when Dad got the self propelled "55" he thought he was in heaven compared to the old pull type "45". We had mostly small grains at the time. He always said the dust on the pull type "45" was worse than the heat in the "55". Just wondering if anyone else had ever done this but he used to go in low gear with the cabless 4010 and get it going and then get off and let it go driverless until it needed steering then jump back on in the dust and get it going straight again. Sounded crazy but sounded like many guys used to do it this way to get out of dust. This was a pickup type windrow. | |
