West Central Missouri | In the past when drilling wheat into corn stalks we have always ran a vertical tillage tool at an angle before planting, then waited for rain, then no tilled our wheat straight with the world. We have also notilled directly into corn stalks at a decent angle. Both methods have worked well. This year we are adding a tramline system from Needham technologies and want to drill all of our fields straight like we plant corn to make spraying the easiest (5 planned trips). Our corn will come off early, but I fear we may not get enough rain to risk working it at all before planting. I am wondering how drill straight into cornstalks will do in the old corn rows. We have a great plains NTA 3010 air seeder that has been completely rebuilt with new coulters, openers, and keetons. Do the rest of you guys plant straight with tramline systems, or something different. | |
