Central Florida | The lack of significant rainfall has not only stunted the late planted corn ( mid April and later) but it is shrinking what ears did pollinate. Other fields are destined for a silage pit. The U of Mo has been testing plants and found high nitrate levels as high as 6" from the tassel. Quincy, Illinois TV weather person said we haven't had a rain of 1" or more since April. We have had some spot rains but the spots are pretty small. The ears in this picture are from an area that has had more rain than most of Missouri.
