Subject: Fuel tank filters

Illinois
We are going to install a new 30 gpm fuel pump and the fuel man asked if we wanted a single base for a 10 micron filter or a double base for a 10 and 2 micron filter.
I know equipment fuel filters are expensive but we currently don't have a problem with our newer diesels (2010 model year motors) so I said lets stay with a single 10 micron filter.
Do many out there use a 10 and 2 micron filter setup on their tanks or do most use a single 10 micron filter? I just wanted to know if I am out of the loop on this or is it overkill with the two filter setup?
Thanks
