Subject: planting into cover crop

SC Kansas
We are getting ready to plant into our rye/wheat/radish cover crop. It was strip tilled about 2 months ago (warm winter) and didn't really clear a strip like I was hoping. We got it sprayed last week, it was about 16" tall. What are some things we should look at before heading to the field? Down pressure, closing wheels, row cleaner settings? We have the schlagel posiclose wheel on one side, and a regular rubber one on the other side.
