NC | A couple years ago I had some 1-3 month old calves get a rough round of some kind of respritory problem. Coughing, depressed, watery eyes, hanging their head down. They were by a set of heifers I had bought and I started wondering if they were really vaccinated the way they were sold. We used Draxxin and if caught early enough it saved them. I think we lost about 6 out of 40 or so. Last year no problems. This year, same thing. Calves out of heifers (mixed group of home raised and supposedly vaccinated bought heifers) Saw the first one this morning and my heart about stopped. Not this crap again. Looks like the exact same thing. Called the vet and he said Resflor Gold instead of Draxxin. I've researched it since then and have high hopes for it. Says improvement in 6 hours. Anyone with any experience with it? I'll let you know if I get the 6 hour improvement about 4 this afternoon.
Note to self - Vaccinate everything bought, regardless of what you are told. | |
