East central Iowa | Picked up an old feed grinder mixer. Was thinking of mixing 50/50 corn and sucotash(wheat,barley,oats) by weight and then grind in some premium alfalfa to add some protien and bulk. Then feed this to relpacement ewes to keep growing, and then similar ration in late gestation through lactation. Just trying to stretch the sucotash I raised this year and provide protein level without puchasing 34% supplement. All are getting avg to good quality hay at all times. Yours and others thoughts are welcome.
