Subject: New product: Lefebure NTRIP Client for Android

Cedar Rapids, Iowa
What does it do?
It's another NTRIP Client, similar to the Windows version, but for Android. It will also log the NMEA position data to a text file.

What are the requirements?
- An Android device that supports Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP).
- A GNSS receiver that can utilize correction data.
- A Bluetooth module for the GNSS receiver.
- A Real Time Network that you can get correction data from via the Internet.
- Cellular data service and good signal quality.

What is the price?
Free.

How do I get it?
On your Android device, just open the Market and search for "NTRIP".

The Bluetooth SPP requirement rules out a lot of Android devices. Some device manufacturers remove parts of the standard Android OS, and this is something they seem to commonly remove. US Cellular doesn't currently carry a single Android phone that will do Bluetooth SPP, and Verizon only has a couple. I'm using a Google Nexus One, which works nicely, but only on GSM carriers (AT&T or T-Mobile), which don't usually have great coverage in rural areas.
