Subject: Bad planting window in ECIL

NE IL
It seems that much of the crop around here that was planted in the May 27-May 31 time frame is really struggling to get out of the ground. Doesnt matter if it is corn or beans. I rotary hoed the one corn field I had that was planted during that time, its too soon to make any decisions but this field is in trouble as are the two fields of soybeans I planted in that window. Looks like much of the area has missed the rain forecasted for today. Not sure if I should be happy or sad about that. Looks like theres gonna be some fields that need some "spotting in". Its still just a bit premature to pull the trigger on that though.
