Texas Panhandle | Yesterday we had the right front-end lock down on our 8330 ILS with duals on the front. One of the gears inside the casing cracked, and everything cratered. It busted the ring gear into pieces which got jammed up against the casing and busted a hole in it. Had to take both tires, spacer and finally got the housing off and pulled the pinion gear out so we could get it loaded on a truck. The bearings sounded a little rough, but the pinion gear was still in the correct position. It appears one or more of the gears came apart.
Has anyone else out there had any trouble with this issue on a 30 series MFWD, or really on any MFWD for that matter? | |
