Subject: Remote Access Options

Devils Lake, ND
I want to be able to access my files from anywhere and not be tied to my laptop. I know there are several ways to do this, but need some advise. I use Vista. I have a Droid phone and would like to be able to access files from it as well.

I have Carbonite system backup. I know they have a remote access option now. It may even be free with my subscription, but I haven't looked at it.

I am playing with DropBox right now. I like how files are shared between your computer and the cloud. You don't need to be online to access the file, and there isn't that internet connection lag when navigating. I'm using the 2 GB free, and would have to pay the $99 for 50 GB if I wanted to use this for everything. I know they have a Droid app now.

I have Gmail now. I know they talk up their Google Docs. One advantage I see is you can access files from a computer that doesn't have Vista or Windows 7. I run into this with my ".xsls" Excel files.

What say you?
