| just read a UW bulletin titled "Relative Maturity for Yield and Profitability in Corn" which is available on the web: http://corn.agronomy.wisc.edu/AA/A039.aspx
The article states:
In southern WI, as RM increases, grain yield increases 2.2 bu/A (per RM unit). At a corn price of $2.50 and drying cost of $0.02 per point moisture bushel, grower return increases $4.00 /A for each RM unit.
I would like to know how relative maturity impacts profitability at other locations in the Corn belt and if the negative impact of going with a lower RM hybrid has diminished over time.
Any comments?
